Valvatorez shifted a little, looking a bit... nostalgic. "That's a question I get quite often. I'm here because I had a change of heart about humankind some time ago. I suppose I've grown fond of it, in my own way. ...I would rather not see it destroyed."

His body language suggests there's more to the story than that, but he's not easily going to divulge it yet. A personal reason, most likely. Still, he did make an interested noise at the mention of Aya's story.

"I did hear about that incident, yes. Quite a nasty one, from what I've gleaned from people in the know about it. I'm afraid I don't know too many specifics, but I have heard that the daemons involved were some rough customers. Surviving something like that is no small feat, especially for anyone unfamiliar with the supernatural."
