It's okay, he's suspicious of everyone, too. He's convinced that everyone is selfish and just looking to use the people around them...except for little kids, who might not have figured out how the world really works yet. He's painfully cynical.

...And can probably be Stared into submission eventually. He's not used to people actually pressing.
