Welcome to the April AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

♔ ok my first thought was lycanthrope bc ofc but im laughing too much at ferocious rise kids... that just doesnt happen. outlander fey is what's final. adoptive dad is probably a wererat tho! i was gonna integrate rune for the magic weapon but unpredictable is. leos whole failure thing with teleportation. i can also integrate his attempts at super speed where he just slip slides everywhere and lands on his face. he receives some discrimination for being a fey but he more or less lets it slide off his shell he can be passive-aggressive about it tho for people who wanna neg cr/have bad history with fey!
♔ im 50:50 on if leo should be as carefree as he is in canon he has a more realistically hard impoverished lifestyle. HES GONNA MILK LUXURY ACAD FOR ALL ITS WORTH EITHER WAY

♔ in school, he's???? trying to be popular. he attempts to make up for being a chaotic fey by being in your face with varying degrees of success. he does NOT talk about his background but as said earlier. HE TALKS ABOUT HIS BROS A LOT HE LOVES THEM VERY MUCH (if you're into rise app them with me so he can be less embarrassing)
PRE-ESTABLISHED CR: he's cafe friends with Akechi foolishjustice and also one of his sparring partners! I had yet to get back to Tokidoki's yokeye's player since med stuff happened but stuff is gonna be there too!
DESIRED CR:
♔ leo is fairly outgoing, so all sorts can be his friend or think he's a pain in the ass because he teases you too much or you've been victim to his antics.
♔ aside from goofing off on the internet and skateboarding he's also got a sweet tooth, if anyone would be his bakery buddies! and he also enjoys cooking, dance, and fashion (curse his shell, he'll make it work)
♔ surprisingly a good student! it's easy to underestimate him with his goofing off but he has a natural affinity. still plays hooky more often than he should tho. some more rule-stickler types can probably be upset about that
♔ a soft spot for plants!! in quiet moments of reflection he really likes hanging around gardens and probably has his own plants in his room
♔ he probably picked up swordfighting bc he's a weeb. does it count as being a weeb if your dad is japanese... speaking of which, he'll probably know at least conversational jp. new ep stuff has also added spanish which i'll integrate into au!
♔ are u a scalie and/or mlm. do you wanna be leo's ex-boyfriend(s). it probably lasted like a week i'm sorry.
♔ the most situational of all!! if you'd like to be a new york based character who would have suffered some form of discrimination, you could be one of leo's siblings! dad may have had a rescue even bigger than the four turtle-shaped fey. otherwise normie friends from new york like april o'neil? also super neat!

Oh hey. I'm still up for some CR ideas if you are. Toki made a fey contract a couple weeks ago and got superspeed out of the deal, which he hasn't used yet; so that's a thing to mess with how their powers differ in the chaotic bits. But he'd certainly be wary of Leo's fey-ness to begin with after his encounter with one. He's 15, also outgoing, and skips class (though he's a terrible student). Conversational Japanese will be good because he doesn't speak English (but French).

Aww yes... these sound super delightful! I guess the question here could be if we're doing a they were at least acquainted before the deal happened or if it was after and it's either Leo's just... "lmao why did you do it bro you've seen the messes I get into" or "YOU HAVEN'T HEARD OF ME sweet summer child" pats him on the head despite just 1 year's seniority. I don't know which TMNT you had prior access to precisely, but Rise Leo is very 2003!Mikey-core. Smartass energies.

Local class skippers are very poor at mastering superspeed... Even so, Leo's got marginally more experience, so he could teach him once they've gone over the trust hurdle! Or even without that, Leo would probably just find it a funny way to pass the time even without a friendship agenda.

2003 was my main TMNT experience, so that's a good comparison.

How long has Leo been at the school already? Toki's been there just since January and there would be a good chance they haven't met yet. He would have been avoiding all non-human types for a while to begin with.

I'm mostly a "I'll just wing it" type when it comes to things, so just seeing what happens works, too! And here's my app if you want some tl;dr on his background.

Leo's been around for longer than Toki at least! Mostly so that I can skip the adjustment period of city familiarizing. Of course we'll see how it turns out in-game if I change my mind but at the bare minimum he's not going to be some new transfer.

POOR KID THO woof. They're working some opposites here with lycanthropy taking family away vs. being new family... this is going to be so fun. And painful. Painfun.

What's up I've got Isabel who is another native Spanish speaker and also Kohaku who is a fellow sword nerd and also kind of a prickly asshole if either of those seem like characters that might be fun to bounce Leo off of.

omg he'd love Isabel so much. Also I just saw a parody of her comic with another fandom I'm in, it's a sign, they're destined to be friends now. He's probably asked her about various Spanish phrases to tell their teachers to suck it. Stop hanging out with this bad influence, Isabel.

Kohaku also seems like she'd be an interesting one to play off of! Given her hesitation with men in general they could have met in a circumstance where... well, it's a fey, who can really tell! Or alternatively AU Leo is a bit on the flirty end so he might have wrongly assumed she was a cute guy at first, but despite the fronts they have they're both actually pretty cautious and emotionally reserved. I'm down for all the CR!

She's perfectly fine with dudes as long as they just stay in their lanes and aren't gross at her or acknowledge that she is a girl in any way shape or form. I'd definitely be down for some kinda subplot where Leo asks her out and gets extremely shot down only to realize she's not what he's looking for anyways. Even if things were awkward for a while a friendship could be salvaged out of the situation! ...Eventually!

As for Isabel I have been keeping her language very rated PG because Paranatural is a wholesome comic and having her swear would feel super weird. Also this AU of her doesn't actually...speak English? She spent most of her life in Soleil so she's Spanish/French bilingual. She could teach him Spanish insults in exchange for learning English ones, though!

Yes this is perfect and brilliant and clearly weird confessions to friendly sparring partners is so good. I can feel the silly vs. serious banter already.

It doesn't have to be swears! Leo is fortunately, also slightly baby in-canon so it'd probably be stuff like... telling them to step on Legos or that they stink like rotten eggs or they're as morally bankrupt as an evil piggybank. This sounds like an alright exchange to me! Tutorials can make for very wholesome bonding time. Maybe Leo will even weasel in some French along eventually, since languages as an interest seems to work for his wanting Outlanders to be more normalized. Would Isabel prefer they do these hangout sessions around school or outside of it? Leo would have to be a bit sneakier in the latter case, but he is a ninja turtle after all.
