Wishes Forever!
The "What If These Bitties Never Went Away And Just Stuck Around Forever To Grow Up" AU Meme!

It's exactly what it sounds like! Post in here and tell us about how things would go with your characters and their younger selves! That wist seems to have taken off forever, leaving all these split souls to become their own people. How would the younger ones grow different? How would they stay the same? Would the two selves mildly get along? Grow close? Want nothing to do with each other? Lets pass out these details and TL;DR into the night.

For bonus fun, leave a 10-20 years later prompt for others to tag with!

Jailbreak | Jasmine

Jail is deeply uncomfortable around Jasmine because she's basically a walking example of a lot of emotions she doesn't really know how to deal with, but in a timeline where it became clear that she wasn't just going to vanish, she'd switch from 'this is a part of me that people didn't need to know about' to 'this is a kid who went through the same shitty stuff I did, and that sucks'.

At which point Jasmine is basically doomed to having a weird terrible mentor figure in her life, sorry, no takebacks.

She's not the best at emotions, but when Jail actually ends up caring about someone she's willing to go hard. Once she'd more-or-less sorted out her feelings on the matter (and cleared up any remaining awkward misunderstandings poor Jasmine might have about what exactly happened here), she'd adopt her as a younger sister, on the grounds that they're clearly related but also Jail is. Not mother material. Just no.

The good news is that Jasmine would grow up with a lot of love and support, albeit frequently expressed in deeply eccentric ways. She'd probably still end up being a lot calmer and sweeter than Jail, even as an adult, but she'd be a lot less shy and self-loathing by the time she grew up. There's a good likelihood of her sharing her older counterpart's love of life in general and having a good time, even if she'd be much, much less recklessly hedonistic about it. Would definitely care a lot about doing good and helping people, probably spending long periods in the library or lab buried under a pile of books and working on a project. Is going to solve cold fusion by the time she's thirty if it kills her, so help her God, just you people watch, etc.

(tl;dr She'd be the nerd-hippie to Jail's goth-punk.)

Physically, she'd also be in better health than Jail, due to actually being around someone who knows what her seer powers are doing to her lungs in detail and has the time and resources to treat her condition from the start, instead of having to put something together over the years via trial and error while hoping it didn't kill her. Might have periodic coughing fits with her visions, still, but wouldn't need the mask to breathe for her like Jail does.

Way fewer scars, hair is slightly shorter and much neater, might be slightly taller than Jail by the time she's done growing due to better nutrition during the teenage years.
