Welcome to the March AU Planning Meme for Daybreak Academy! This post is intended to help prospective players plot their AU and figure out who their characters are in this setting and where they want to go, as well as work together with other players to plan future CR, build Secret Societies and Clubs, and generally determine where they want to start their characters, and where they want them to go. In addition to posting up the form, you are encouraged to tag around to other people's forms and discuss potential CR and plans with them. This post is an open forum for all prospective players to hash out interesting ideas for their characters ahead of joining the game.

Not sure where to start? Feel free to look through the Premise and FAQ for notes on what the game is about, and what to expect. We also encourage you to take a look at our information for in-setting Powers and Secret Societies to help flesh out your character's backstory.

PLAYER NAME: Jess
CHARACTER NAME: Goro Akechi
CANON: Persona 5
BLURB: Rival to Ren Amamiya, a Wildcard Persona user with all the same potential as the protagonist...but none of the guidance or bonds. As a result, he misuses his power in a self-destructive quest for revenge against his selfish and arrogant father for abandoning his mother, unwittingly serving as a pawn in a cosmic gamble.


AU INFORMATION

CHARACTER AU NAME: Goro Akechi
STUDENT OR FACULTY?: 12th year student, 17 years old.
CHARACTER BLURB: Goro Akechi is the illegitimate son of the Japanese mage and politician Masayoshi Shido. Due to Japan's harsh views on illegitimacy, his mother was left alone to fend for both of them, and ultimately died while Akechi was still young. From there, he was bounced between foster homes until he awoke as a Flame, with the ability to manifest the familiar Robin Hood from his own soul. However, that power wasn't enough, and he made a deal: his mysterious patron, whose name he doesn't even know, brought forth a more powerful familiar from the dark side of his soul, in exchange for something to be determined at a later date.

Two years later, he's now a prodigy detective and local celebrity in Tokyo, nicknamed the Detective Prince. But he has a dark secret, as he uses his powers, including the ability to release people's Id and cause them to run amok, to aid his father in hopes of earning his trust. But surely his decision to attend Daybreak Academy is more innocent...right?
PRE-ESTABLISHED CR: As his isolation and lack of family or close friends is a major part of his backstory, I want to avoid any deep relationships. That said, people who recognize him from TV or public appearances are welcome, as are coworkers and former classmates. I'd also be interested in neighbors he knew for a few months before getting yanked off to a different neighborhood, for fun 'we could have been friends, but it just turned into a lesson in not getting attached' reunions.

On the darker side, I'd also be willing to work with anyone who might be interested in their character being somehow involved in his under the table job, either as a 'customer' or a former victim.
DESIRED CR: People who'll see through his fake polite mask and learn who he really is, for better or worse. He tries hard to present a certain image, and the best way to get strong CR with him, either positive or negative, is to not take him at face value.
OTHER: I'm on EST and absolutely not a morning person, so you'll most likely be able to catch me in evenings or at night.

MOMO might recognize him in a "oh I vaguely recognize you but I can't really remember where" way but honestly that's not going to matter to her in the long run. But also please give her English pointers, Akechi.

He'll maybe mention she might have seen him on TV, but not go into real detail. But he will be happy to give English pointers! He's not completely fluent, but he speaks it well enough to get by without a translator.

He doesn't make a habit of trying to murder his study partners. The people he tries to murder are typically much more politically significant than typical high school students.

...And murder would be a bit too heavy handed for so early into the job he's absolutely not here to do, anyway. But if he was here for unsavory purposes, he would start by causing a rash of disciplinary problems just after spring break.

Please feel free to harass him, he's not nearly as cool as he thinks he is and practically begs to be trolled over it. He blushes easily too, so he's like a field day for people who like to fluster and humiliate tryhards.

Hello, yes. Apparently CR works here fine going by the TDM. Akechi will most likely not even need to use his powers to get Toki to do distracting shit, and if he does use them, it would probably be an absolute disaster for everyone else involved. Akechi is hereby welcome to manipulate the fuck out of him. No one would even be suspicious of an increase in disturbing behavior, really.

He wasn't expecting to find the perfect instrument of chaos so easily...but he's not about to complain. The easier his job is, the more he can focus on things he actually wants to do.

And who knows, maybe Toki will genuinely grow on him. He has a bit of a soft spot for the earnest type.
