PLOT SUMMARY: Miach has found out that the archives in Daybreak's library do not recount even a single misstep in all of Daybreak's history. No mistake, not in hundreds and hundreds of years. Considering everything is constantly upside down at the school now, doesn't that seem unrealistic?

Miach is interested in finding whatever corpses Daybreak has buried in its basement. Contact other schools, hack computers.... whatever. The methods are up to the characters interested in getting involved in this plotline.

WHAT I WANT: Unlocking more lore!! Maaaaybe airing Daybreak's dirty laundry on the network and getting punishment, who knows? It really depends on who the focal characters will be as a group.

The main goal is finding out more about the setting, ICly and OOCly. What exactly we do with the plot otherwise is totally up for debate.

POINTS OF INTEREST: Miach was enslaved by evil outlands creatures of undefined nature as a child. She was then busted out by the Blade of Marmora, a rebel group of the Galra that featured in a recent player plot.

These Galra then gave her to a group of human hunters who got her insufficient therapy and saw to it that she was adopted in Japan.

WHAT I WANT: Both the Outlanders that enslaved her and the hunter group are still free from any cross-connections with other characters.

Has your character got ties to an evil outlander organization/clan/thingie? Do you want Miach to tie into that?

Is your character's hunter group (or affiliated hunter group) liable to refer Outlands victims back to normal lives? Do you want them to have sent Miach to her current parents (and subsequently to Daybreak after she messed up there)?

POINTS OF INTEREST:
- AEGIS is an international hunter guild made exclusively of people who have been infested by daemonic symbiotes, giving them strange powers. They generally fight to protect people from the same fate that has fallen upon them. Kohaku herself is a trainee member, as her symbiote isn't very powerful, and so she needs to be able to rely on a lot of mundane skills to make up for the difference. PROPER AEGIS hunters are SUPER badasses with creepy body-horror powers, and they do their best to work with other friendly organizations, as their membership isn't very high. There's maybe two hundred of them spread across the world.
- The specific kinds of daemons that attacked and infested all the members of AEGIS come from a specific city in a remote corner of the Outlands, where humans and daemons live not just in peace, but in true symbiosis, constantly altering each other biologically so as to be able to fuse into singular entities. They think they are beautiful and perfect, but anyone from Earth would likely find them DEEPLY disturbing on a very visceral level. They are sending daemons to attack Earth in hopes of acting like a vaccine, preparing Earth for the coming of Nightfall. No one on Earth knows this, but it might be possible for someone from the Outlands to have heard of them or have some other connection.
WHAT I WANT: Honestly I don't have anything specific in mind? I'm just giving people options.

POINTS OF INTEREST: Wulfenbach Industries is known as a relatively unobtrusive German manufacturing company that makes consumer electronics and car parts and stuff like that to normal people. In the supernatural world they have a VASTLY different reputation. The Wulfenbachs have become known, in the last twenty years, for using overwhelming force to brutally put an end to all the mage family infighting within their area of influence (Western Germany, Eastern France), as well as keeping vampire clans, werewolf packs, and other supernatural creatures that feed on humans under control. The Wulfenbachs, under the control of Klaus Wulfenbach, are hated and feared by many for their effective but brutal methods, but people are starting to grumbling admit that under the new management it is safer for ordinary humans to walk the streets at night, and that most of the mage families that were conquered are actually doing pretty well now that they aren't wasting so much energy fighting each other.
WHAT I WANT: For other Europeans to have strong OPINIONS about the Wulfenbach family, which before its meteoric rise was unknown on the supernatural scene.

They worked out of the Southwest US mostly, and were kind of secretive, while also being a bit Hunter Group-ish. Following Hazel's visions to deal with supernatural situations. Then a Big Bad Daemon got summoned and all the adults were murdered. The kids were left behind but branded and then scattered themselves to try and save themselves.

She then ran into a group of hunters who told her about Daybreak.

WHAT I WANT: Anyone who wants to have been aware of The Army or who would have been part of the Hunter Group that directed her towards Daybreak! Also if someone wants to know the Daemon that was summoned or be aware of the incident?

Kohaku is sarcastic and defensive, but loyal to the people who put up with her. Deeply suspicious of anyone who thinks they might be hitting on her, has nightmares, is currently possessed by the ghost of a 17th century French pirate.
WHAT I WANT: People to get crushes on Kohaku for her to be annoyed by. Boys for Kohaku to get crushes on and be confused about it. People to confuse her for a boy (she tended to present a very masculine look to fit in better at her last school.). Other people who like sword fighting, cooking and video games. Other people who think all this shit with heralds is fucked up and MEGA traumatizing. Whatever else you've got!

He decided he hated it in Tartarus and fought his way to the mortal world (against his father's wishes) with the hope of finding his mother there. Now he's on the surface, looking out for shades sent by his father to drag him back to the underworld, trying to figure out how the mortal world works, and hoping to find his mother somewhere. He's very personable and easy going, for the most part. You'd never guess how stubborn he can get just from talking to him.

Possesses a powerful lightning and electricity based Radiance, which he uses to power all manner of runic gadgets and attack enemies with. Hardly a normal kid, but reasonably well adjusted, Gunvolt is mission-oriented and has a strong sense of right and wrong. Dedicated to helping QUILL and stopping Nightfall. Occasionally a snarky smartass, but a genuinely good kid who seeks equality, freedom, and tolerance for people of all backgrounds. Gunvolt does not suffer those who would rob others of their freedom well. Has recently made friends with an unusual idol AI, known as Monarch. Appreciates video games, though he's only been able to afford an old N64-style console.
WHAT I WANT: More general CR, especially people he can get close to. Also perhaps someone he can occasionally butt heads with, because as time goes on, he's only going to get more independent and outspoken. Also, people to help deal with... well. Operation Icarus, coming up in December. It's gonna get real, and there might be a need for people who want to deal with trouble following it.

He's the perpetual straight man to everyone else's faculty antics. It's a riot for everybody but him. He's loosened up a bit in recent months, though. This is going to snap back pretty hard during December plotting, because Guess Who Has Torture Trauma!!
WHAT I WANT: More people to bother him! More kids for him to worry about! Basically anything! I'm not wanting for CR but I'm always happy for more and interesting stuff.

CHARACTER: Desidera Neroni | original | unlogic
CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: Desidera is the daughter of a mage who had apparently gone and made some Bad Decisions several years ago; she was born to two humans, but because of a reckless deal her mother went and botched, she was born with what looks like a sort of Daemonic corruption, and she was more or less forced to live a sheltered life because of it. Her parents separated just shortly after she was born, and as far as she knows, it was because of what her mother had done. She doesn't remember her father, and is unaware that she has an older half-brother.

Her primary reason for coming to Daybreak is to ensure that she can keep her powers under control. This was a joint decision between her mother and herself after an incident that had occurred when their home was broken into, and upon arrival at the academy she was pretty quickly pointed in Valvatorez's direction.

She worries a bit about how others might see her, but she tries to avoid showing it too much if at all, instead being openly friendly to anyone that isn't immediately put off by what they see. She enjoys being treated like she's normal, even though she obviously isn't.

WHAT I WANT: Desi could use more CR in general, but particularly, I'm most-interested in getting her some more friends since that'll help her keep going in the direction I want her to go. Also, she's gonna start needing 'em, soon.

CHARACTER: Rebecca Fulton | original | lifeforced
CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: Becky is the only child of two hunters in a clan that frequently moves from place to place because their particular activities (they actively work against any other human groups that have been found to be in support of Nightfall) tend to earn them some enemies and they prefer to avoid putting any single place at risk for collateral damage for too long.

Becky herself was kidnapped ten years ago, when she was seven, by a group that had intended to draw her parents into an ambush, but the plan had ultimately failed as they didn't expect for her parents not to come alone. The stress and trauma of the incident resulted in Becky's flame manifesting earlier than was considered normal, giving her a healing power that (currently) amounts to having an accelerated healing rate and the ability to temporarily grant it to others via touch. It also prevents her from aging, so she's been stuck in a seven-year-old body for a decade now.

She's in Daybreak partially as a means to learn more about the sort of work her parents do, but also to make sure she isn't in the crossfire or otherwise at risk if or when her parents are targeted. Her roommate, Lia, is a friend of hers from around five years ago, back when she and her family were living in New York.

WHAT I WANT: Friends! I'm still planning to start nudging Becky toward Lia's friends and possibly toward others, since she should really start making a few herself. She's also in the cooking club and volunteers at the infirmary, so those are possible ways to meet her as well.

Jolyne's got a whole lot of, uh, issues she's working through which is kind of a given what with her being in prison for a thing she didn't do then being dragged to the school. She's getting less aggro, but shit keeps hitting the fan for her. Likes to fight. And train. A lot.
WHAT I WANT: Honestly, more friends and/or sparring partners? Alternatively also people to see her dancing shit and try to convince her into either a dancing club to exist or just getting a weird group of people together for the stupidest bullshit. Also members of the mechanics club would be cool too? She's getting less aggro, I swear, but she's also going to be in Not The Best Of States after the Galra plot this month.

WHAT I WANT: For people to come to her birthday later next week as well as the Time Rift plot happening later this month. She is going to be learning a fair bit about where most of her magic comes from so it will be a big character arc for her.

Also, some comfort therapy, after finding out that her Time Rift shenanigans inadvertently caused people a great deal of harm. As well as discovering that her ancestors used to fight and kill Outlanders quite frequently. All for good reasons, but, still...

Paranoid, manipulative, and very unsure of where the lies end and the truth begins with what she was raised to believe. WHAT I WANT: People she can touch (and manipulate), someone she can befriend and not be afraid of, adults she can begrudglingly start to trust, PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP HER CHILL OUT. He's an unsettling jerk who does not really care one way or the other about what happens to the world after Nightfall, but is definitely excited to see it happen. CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: Half-Fey thief man gets caught and goes straight to gay baby jail school, do not pass Go, do not collect €200. Therion's a wiry bundle of trust issues and dry humor masquerading as a normal-ish student. You know, as normal as Daybreak gets. Also, he's subclassed as Dancer and is now prone to causing random magical effects when he pops and locks it, so... that's something he has to deal with.
WHAT I WANT: Therion is going to be a mess this month, after seeing (and possibly confronting) his ex-partner and attempted murderer on a mission, the fallout of the Galra plot, and the Clocktowers Beneath the Sea player plot, which I'm definitely subjecting him to. In light of that, what I'm hoping for this month is to strengthen the closer CR he has and think about options for resolving the Ex-Partner Thing, which I'm thinking of submitting as a Phantom Thieves Palace next year.

He's also still not happy about being trapped at Daybreak, particularly as he hears more about how perilous students' lives are. So there's that.

CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: Hibiki is what happens when someone develops an Aesthetic instead of a moral compass. She's a super-talented heir to a Mage family who doubled down on the whole "exclusivity and arrogance" thing after obtaining Cartoon Villain Friendship Trauma as a child. She is so very Fancy, so very Elegant, that hearing stupid words causes her physical pain. (She particularly dislikes it when people end their sentences with verbal tics, dood.) She also has a bad habit of dressing up in a hat and a fancy cape, calling herself Phantom Thief Genius, and stealing whatever she can't get via yelling and flirting.

She's a movie star, a theater actor, a model, an idol, a Mage specializing in illusions, Mister Handsome Universe Prince of the Year (whatever that is), and a Candle (her Flame is the ability to make her illusions physically real, but only if she's focusing, and she also needs to be singing at the same time, because there is no such thing as Too Much when you're Hibiki Shikyoin.) No one is more aware that Hibiki is a big deal than Hibiki. We are talking "gets stuck staring at herself in the mirror on a daily basis, and has no shame about admitting the fact" levels of narcissism. She's therefore probably going to join the game proper by arriving in the most extra way I can think of and declaring herself in charge of the whole Academy, because Hibiki is also a nosy judgmental hatewatcher who likes to spy on things and then take them over when they fail to meet her Standards. And she believes she loves Magic, especially Radiance, more than anyone else, so. REVOLUTION!

I'm sure that will end well for her.

WHAT I WANT: ANYTHING IS AWESOME but I am really hoping Hibiki can have a balance of humorous antagonistic threads & opportunities to at least pretend she's doing Teacher-Like Things for people in pursuit of raising their Radiance (whether her methods work is another matter, but an attempt will be made). Anybody who wants their fae or fae-adjacent lady character to be insufferably flirted with, Hibiki is an otokoyaku parody and can provide. People who unironically think she's cool, people who are over her Noble Prince Style, fellow "geniuses" with whom to snobbily hobnob, idiots to give her headaches, idiots who use funny suffixes to make her scream and flee in terror....it's all good! You already know that I'm probably going to have Val bring in Prinnies entirely because of Hibiki, somehow, dood. And they probably would be extra to each other, and she'll inevitably annoy Valvatorez, I'm sure.

Gunvolt here might make for a decent day-to-day sort of dynamic, considering he's a fellow Candle. He does kinda lack the sense of style and amore that Hibiki no doubt wants to see, but his lightning Radiance can put on a heck of a show, and he's only still growing at it. But what makes him interesting for this is twofold; in Daybreak, he's at least listened to idol music, so he could theoretically be familiar with Hibiki, or at least with some of the more common concepts she might speak of. He's also probably going to be a decent straight-man to her antics most of the time too, and offering plenty of snark along the way.

The other is that GV's founded and befriended an AI Core that's... well, got the personality, reputation, and career as an idol. Monarch was a fairly popular JPop idol, too. Though the Monarch persona and her concerts were a front for an evil corporation's foul machinations, the AI Core that housed Monarch and her personality is actually quite kind and playful. ...I fully expect Hibiki to flirt with her hologram at least once. And as such, it might make for good reason for them to continually interact? Dunno. Just throwing that one out there.

CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: A Candle with the ability to shapeshift into animals he's touched with the intent to 'acquire' them (hawk, raccoon, dragonfly, mutated alligator, red panda, Outlands critters tbd). Good kid, terrible living situation as a human, so he simply... became a hawk and is now lying about ever being anything else. Also very keen to help save the world and prove to himself that he's worth something. Not the most social guy, doesn't do much for fun beyond flying (which is his favorite thing in the world) and studying.
WHAT I WANT: Anythingggg. This is going to be the month that breaks him, though he's still having better luck than actual canon!! He's going to vanish on December 2nd, ending up experimented on by the Galra, probably shred through a few of them when they fight their way out, and it's one hell of a reality check. Toby being Toby, he'll be less talkative, refuse to discuss what happened, and probably avoid rooms without windows At All Costs. There will be some memory shenanigans too, for anyone who connects a human kid named Tobias with this hawkboy. It's not a very common name... 👀

So Cu comin in unlucky, as always in his life. His homeland was destroyed by monsters, leaving only him (for now) alive. So as in his historical story, Cu was born a special kid - killed a hound with bare hands when he was young and then went to join the Knights of the Red Branch as its finest warrior (LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO REVIVE THE KNIGHTS OF RED BRANCH TOGETHER!) then trained under the great Scathach and received his infamous Gae Bolg, the cursed spear. Upon returning home that was when he found out that his home was destroyed and Scathach managed to enroll him to the academy.

Cu is basically a free-spirited man with extraordinary physiques and mental ability. Oh, and a very good womanizer also ;) a carefree and chill guy most of the times, unless you challenge or annoy him. Talking about his homeland will make him serious also somehow. Defo one of the best broski and husbando out there!
WHAT I WANT: Cu LOVES flirtin' somehow and it won't hurt to have one or more girlfriends within the academy no? ;) but seriously all girls are welcome and for the bros who wants to hang and chill (FISHING ANYONE?) OR PLS HAVE AN ARCHER FOR MY LANCER (I mean someone that can annoy him so much that he hates but loves him at the same time. WIll be no fun if there ain't no rivalry brewing within the academy.

CHARACTER AND AU SUMMARY: His whole entire backstory is full of child abuse and neglect, but I will try to skim over things the best I can!

SAD STUFF FIRST: he experienced abuse at the hands of his babysitter and then he lost his mother at the age of eight. After that, his family kind of... put nicely, they all turned their backs on him. He spent years in the system, where he formed some bitterness and an insane amount of loneliness/craving for love and positive attention.

The kid is super starved for all of that and it comes out in the form of him being a slight gremlin at times and occasionally taking jokes too far.

As for less sad!!!

He's a demigod and an actual genius. He can build basically anything and he can "sense" all things mechanical + certain materials used for building machinery. The genius comes in the form of him being able to do things like thinking three-dimensionally and whatnot. He's great at building on the go.

He's got this nifty toolbelt that was a gift from his dad, and it's kind of like a Hammerspace if you could make special requests from one on top of storing things within it??? He can't get magical stuff out of it and he can't get super special things or anything that wouldn't be able to fit through the openings.

COOKING IS A THING HE'S P GREAT AT... I want him bullied into joining that club. Let him be in two clubs, yes. (Cause you can prolly guess which other one he'll be trying to join, laughs.)

Sometimes he will say mean stuff without entirely meaning to, but he's uhhh... suuuper ADHD and sometimes that comes with the unfortunate habit of just letting things fly out of his mouth without fully thinking it through.

Lastly, he can Accidentally Fire, so apologies in advance if he burns something down bc he got nervous. :( He'll try to fix anything he messes up???
